A Day in the Life
What does a day in the life at a mental health residential center actually look like? I’ve only experienced one facility, but I thought pulling back the curtain for those unfamiliar could be helpful.
A few random thoughts:
Today’s community outing is to Dollar Tree—we each have $15 to spend however we like. It’s an activity I’d like to bring with me into the real world. It’s oddly exhilarating.
People love cinnamon toast crunch here. We go through several boxes a day.
The house has huge windows; light pours in throughout the day.
As I clack away on my iPhone, there is a conversation about body language and lying. Without access to Google, debates carry on much longer than I’m used to. No iPhones to settle the debates.
